The Optometrists at Eye Associates of Winter Park are committed to providing the highest level of professional, technologically-advanced eye health care possible.
We provide comprehensive medical and routine preventative eye exams, diagnose and treat all major non-surgical eye diseases and injuries in patients of all ages. Our expertise is in fitting children and adults with glasses and contact lenses tailored for their visual and lifestyle needs.
It is important to all of us at Eye Associates that our doctors remain active members of both our local community and the optometric community. Meet Our Doctors
Kaitlyn Kelley, OD
Optometric Physician
Dr. Kaitlyn Kelley is an Optometric Physician. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and Chemistry from Carlow University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, She went on to study at the Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry where she obtained her Doctor of Optometry and Mini M.B.A. for Optometrists. Dr. Kelley also completed a post-doctoral residency in primary care with emphasis in pediatric care. When she isn’t assisting her patients or managing the practice, Doctor Kelley can be found traveling to Pennsylvania and Maine to visit family, catching up on a good book, enjoying the outdoors, and spending time with her husband Jeremy, their 2 dogs (Magnolia & Hamilton) and Maine Coon cat, Leo.
Dr. Tawni Cashon is an Optometric Physician. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition from The Ohio State University and then continued on to earn her Doctor of Optometry degree from The Ohio State University College of Optometry. She has served as a clinical investigator for contact lens studies/clinical trials, allowing her to offer new and innovative products and treatments for her patients. Dr. Cashon and her husband enjoy spending time with their two Aussies, Archie and Bindi, exploring unique breweries, and avidly yelling at the TV while cheering on their favorite sports teams, the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Ohio State Buckeyes. Tawni Cashon, OD

Penny Straughn, OD, FAAO
Optometric Physician
Dr. Penny Straughn is an Optometric Physician and Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. She earned her Bachelor's Degree from Missouri State University and her Doctor of Optometry from the University of Missouri St. Louis. She completed a post-doctoral residency at the VA Medical Center, where she later served as Residency Director and Chief of the Eye Clinic at Lake City VA Medical Center. Dr. Straughn later joined the faculty at the University of Florida, where she served as the Director of the Contact Lens Service. Her passion lies in specialty contact lenses and pediatrics, with a particular focus on fitting specialty contact lenses for patients of all ages, including infants. Dr. Straughn holds certifications in EyePrintPro, MiSight, Paragaon CRT, and Moon, showcasing her commitment to staying at the forefront of cutting-edge optometric technologies. Outside the clinic, Dr. Straughn finds joy in spending time at the beach and traveling with her husband and two sons.
Sandra Barker, OD, FAAO
Dr. Sandra Barker is an Optometric Physician and cofounder of Eye Associates of Winter Park. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Biology with Honors from the University of Texas at Austin and then went on to receive her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Houston College of Optometry. Dr. Barker is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. Dr. Barker is very active in her church, where she has chaired many Boards in past years. She currently serves on the Board of Christian Outreach. She and her husband, Dr. Gary Barker have one grown son who lives in New York. In her spare time, Dr. Barker and her husband enjoy hiking, biking and travel
